The concept of an EcoVillage means that people physically live with each other and take care of the land as a group on equal terms.  However, some people who are interested in the concept of a Maui EcoVillage appear to be confused by the word "community" if it is used in conjunction with "Intentional Community" or "Eco-Community" as if it means non-physical community or community-at-large where people do NOT live together within physical proximity of each other.  So, this page was created to speak specifically to the issue of what an EcoVillage actually is so that people who want to live in one have a similar understanding.
