On May 3, 2010, the Forum Council meeting was held in Kula. Here is a brief written summary of what happened.
Warren agreed to form a committee on
Decision Making and to develop a Proposal for the next Council Meeting. It was requested that the committee consider Warren and Susan's amended proposal, Russ' report on Consensus Making, and the
Plenary Decision-Making Process used by Tamera, and other materials as appropriate. Warren's proposal was amended to read a 2/3 majority (vs 51%) is required for approval. Anyone interested in working on
Decision Making should contact Warren, 879-2213.
The second Committee is on
Vision and will be coordinated by Gary. It is to consider the
New Culture Community Principles proposed by Gary, Zoe's
Vision Notes, and other materials as appropriate. If you have input on
Vision or would like to serve on the committee, please contact Gary, 415-286-3190.
Other committees were considered -- including one on
Money -- but were not formed at this time so as not to dilute the attention and time for working on the two primary committees. Robert's notes on
Money were mentioned as a good overview of some of the issues involved.
Warren presented a proposal for "
Guidelines for Forum Presenters Choosing Facilitators".
Amanda presented a proposal on one way to deal with conflict situations in Committed Forums. Her proposal on
Conflict Resolution, including the amendments suggested by the Council, was approved.
